AGAPE International

a-ga-pe (n) = Love as revealed in Jesus, seen as spiritual and selfless and a model for humanity

Hey Adventurites! Hoguester shared an e-mail from Rich Botkin (Wachovia Securities) on his web log. Botkin met up with one of my favorite people in the world - Don Brewster. For those of you who don't attend Adventure Christian Church, Don was the "Executive" pastor at Adventure for many years. By executive, that meant Don was in charge of the day-to-day affairs of the church, e.g. the business side of any church that intends to survive and thrive for its parishioners. A little history on Don. He was once a high-powered executive on one of the top floors of the Empire State Building in NYC, and has the accent to prove it. An energetic man with a self-deprecating sense of humor. Loves God with all his mind, all his heart, all his being. Hates sin, but loves the sinner. Is the most compassionate man on the face of the Earth, at least that I've met. Hates socks. All around a great guy. His ministry is Agape International.

Botkin's e-mail hinted at just the tip of the evil iceberg that Agape is confronting in the Heart of Darkness presently residing in Cambodia. These kids are brutalized by their masters. The same lowlife bastards that run these child brothels were the ones touring through Sumatra after the Christmas tsunami to pick up orphans for restocking their brothels. The most revolting part is their clientele are mostly Western businessmen. I wanted to hurl when I heard that. Ambassodors of freedom and liberty engaging in the most despicable acts imaginable. These child brothels are the grossest form of evil embodied. After the kids are used up, generally too sick to "perform" for their "clients," their masters dump them on the streets of Phnom Penh to die. Agape rescues these kids from certain death. Tour Agape's website to learn and prayerfully contribute.
